Our History
Billy Homes Jr. purchased Gulf Coast Marine from his Father, Billy Holmes Sr. formerly known as Gill's Outboard Shop in 1954 and established Gulf Coast Marine. A lifetime of interest in boat racing, sailing, cruising and fishing with his Grandfather Robert H. Holmes in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Billy has been racing, fishing, and sailing for the past 60 years. The pride on the faces of the customers when they take delivery of their boat, the tales of their big catches, and fond memories are what brings Billy and the staff at Gulf Coast Marine the most joy! With the opening of the Packery Channel, the Holmes family built the 4thlocation of Gulf Coast Marine at 10121 S. Padre Island Drive. Gulf Coast Marine is the "state of the art" marine dealership in Coastal Bend. Once you purchase your boat at Gulf Coast Marine we want to ensure that you are ready to hit the water safely. Our certified technicians will add any accessories that you have purchased and then test and break in your boat. We put 2.5 hours of "break in" run time on your engine so you are ready to cruise and fish when you pick up your boat.The day you pick up your boat that same technician is here to greet you with your salesman and answer any questions you have about your boat and then take you to a local launch site near our facility to take you through a full orientation with your boat. Our technician will make sure you are comfortable loading and unloading your boat and know how to use every accessory, option and feature. After orientation there is a full check of your trailer to make sure you are road ready.

Our drive in tank in our service department allows us to diagnose technical problems faster and more accurately to assure your repair is done efficiently and at the highest level of quality possible.
